Imagine a 6’5’’ bowler drawing awkward bounce off the deck, with the ability to swing the ball both ways. That’s what Craig Overton brings to the table. Another one of our Somerset boys, he came up the age-group cricket ranks, playing the under-19 World Cup in 2012. In 2015, he emerged as the highest wicket-taker in the County Championship, and by 2017, he was ripe enough to wear the English whites in the Ashes Down Under. With over 400 wickets now in First Class cricket, a 217-run County record stand for the eighth-wicket under his belt where he himself scored 138, and a winner’s medal with the Southern Brave in The Hundred around his neck, Overton looks all set for another all-round show in the desert!
